Back to Work, I think

I’m back in Washington, D.C., where everyone is talking about health care.  It’s almost as if there are no other issues facing the country.  Of course, health care is important, but I hope we don’t forget about — um, well you know, other stuff.   I forgot what I was going to say.  But you know, other stuff.

Earlier this month, hundreds of thousands of Americans marched up Pennsylvania Avenue; some held signs, some wore tea pots on their heads and others dressed like pirates. I’m not sure what they were trying to accomplish.  I mean, I know it was a rally against President Obama’s healthcare proposals, but these people kinda struck me as nuts.  Probably not PC to say it.

I think it’s time for some intellectual discussions of reform and not silly slogans and stupid costumes.  The whole “tea party” motiff doesn’t make sense to me anyway.
